NPR Tiny Desk Contest 2022 includes "Little Sister" by Brian Craig

I was super happy to learn that my submission “Little Sister” was admitted into NPR’s famous contest Tiny Desk.

I recorded the song while performing for a First Friday event hosted at Big Story Bookstore in Bend, Oregon. I decided since I was recording high-quality audio for a hopeful good capture of my live performance that I could also record video of me performing the songs.

In the end I was very happy with the recordings and decided to edit together a video of me performing a song. The experience took me back to the days of “Brian In the Break room” where I performed in local business break rooms. Read about that experience here.

I remembered the inspiration that Tiny Desk delivered to me to start doing Brian in the Break room. After Googling the show I discovered that they were open for submissions for 2022!

I submitted “Little Sister” and BOOM — It got accepted. Woah, FULL CIRCLE baby. I’m not planning on winning anything. But I’m super happy to get into the mix, especially since I’ve released “Big Story Friday Night” as a vinyl record of the performance that I’m delivering to Big Story and Smith Rock Records (Ranch Records).
